Traffic Separation Scheme (TSS) is an area where navigational rules for ships have been established. Each TSS designates specific routes to ensure that ships sailing in the area follow the same direction.
TSS is usually established in areas where there is heavy ship movement in different directions, resulting in a high risk of collisions. Information for TSS and the routing system can be obtained from Admiralty charts.
