Maritime Transport Training Institute (MATRAIN) was established on 22 June 2009 and is located in Pulau Indah, Selangor. MATRAIN was established as a training center for staff of Malaysia Marine Department, government agencies including the private sector who are directly involved with the maritime industry.
MATRAIN is an important component in realizing the aspirations of the Malaysia Maritime Department to produce knowledgeable, efficient and highly skilled personnel. MATRAIN’s sole aim is to conduct training and research in the field of maritime transport.
MATRAIN is also one of the Public Training Institutes (ILA) that offer facility rentals to government and private agencies under the Government Facilities Reservation System Project (MyTC) led by the Malaysian Administrative Modernization and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU) and the Economic Planning Unit (EPU) according to the fixed rent.
