PORT KLANG, 5 February 2024 – The Monthly Assembly Ceremony, Governance Enhancement Briefing on Addressing Corruption and Leakages, and Anti-Corruption Pledge of the Marine Department Malaysia was held at the Auditorium Hall, Level 5, Menara Dius Api, Marine Headquarters, Marine Department Malaysia (JLM). The event was organised by the Human Resource Management Unit (UPSM) in collaboration with the Integrity Unit (UI) of the Marine Headquarters.
During the Monthly Assembly, YBrs. Captain Mohamad Halim bin Ahmed, Director General of Marine, urged the staff of the Marine Department Malaysia (JLM) to continue improving the quality of work and provide the best services to stakeholders in line with the government's aspirations. During the same event, the Director General of Marine presented Appreciation Certificates to the Financial Management Unit & Trust Account (UPKAA) and the Central Mercantile Marine Fund (CMMF) for achieving 100% Bill and Claim Payments within Seven (7) Days Throughout 2023. The Director General of Marine also congratulated JLM for successfully obtaining the Information Security Management System ISO/IEC 27001:2013 (ISMS) certification.
After the Monthly Assembly, the event continued with a Governance Enhancement Briefing on Addressing Corruption and Leakages, presented by Mr. Rosmadi bin Kasim, Assistant Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Selangor State.
The Anti-Corruption Pledge was also solemnly recited by the staff of the Marine Department Malaysia (JLM), led by the Director General of Marine, followed by the Signing Ceremony of the Anti-Corruption Pledge (IBR), witnessed by YBhg. Deputy Commissioner Dato’ Haji Alias bin Salim, Director of the MACC Selangor State. The recitation and signing of the Anti-Corruption Pledge serve as proof of JLM’s commitment in combating corruption.
In his speech, the Director General of Marine urged the staff of the Marine Department Malaysia (JLM) to adopt the principles of trust and integrity as the main foundation in fulfilling their responsibilities with good governance and management, in line with the vision of Malaysia Madani.
Also present at the event were the Senior Management of the Marine Department Malaysia (JLM), Directors of Divisions and Regions, Members of the Board of Directors of the Dius Api Board (LDA), Members of the Committee of the Central Mercantile Marine Fund (CMMF), and the entire staff of JLM.
