NEW LIGHT HOUSE ESTABLISHED- ONE FATHOM BANK,MALACCA STRAIT

  1. Mariners are advised that the construction work on the new One Fathom Bank light house has been completed.

  2. The new lighthouse will be commissioned at sunset on 01st February 1999.

    3. Light house details as follow:-

    Name : One Fathom Bank

    Position : Lat 02° 53.3 North

    Long 100° 59.8 East

    Light Characteristic : Fl(4)W 20s

    Racon : Morse Code 'O'

    Structure : White round steel tower with red bands on concrete piles structure.

    Dome shaped roof at base of tower.

    Elevation Height : 43.3 metres

  3. The existing One Fathom Bank lighthouse will cease it's operation immediately at sunrise on 01 February 1999.

note :The structure of the existing lighthouse will remain intact.
