To have an efficient and effective navigation system, that enhances the safety of navigation in Malaysian waters.

To have an effective response plan to combat oil spill from ships and mitigate marine environmental pollution.

ORGANISATION

 

  1. AIDS TO NAVIGATION UNIT

 

To ensure aids to navigation meets at following availability factor:

 

1.          Lighthouses   - 99%

2.          Beacons        - 98%

3.          Buoys           - 97%

 

Primary Functions :

1.          Maintenance and operation of aids to navigation

2.          Issuance of Notice to Mariners

3.          Establishment of new aids to navigation

 

 

  1. MARITIME TRAFFIC SERVICES UNIT

                       

Ensuring and regulating an efficient, effective and economical maritime traffic services system to enhance safety of navigation and to reduce maritime accident in Malaysian waters.

 

Primary Functions :

1.          Navigational information and warning

2.          Regulating and monitoring of marine traffic

3.          Navigational guidance and advice
