APPLICATION FOR LICENSE
1. Application
for a boat license shall be made in a prescribed form; Application For Boat
License and by the following person :-
(i)
In the case of Individual Ownership or
Co-ownerships (not more than 6 individuals), by the person or persons applying
to be registered as owners), or by his or their agent whose authority shall be
attested in writing by the owners; and
(ii)
In the case of Corporate Ownership, by
their agent, and the authority of the agent shall be attested by writing under
the common seal of the corporation.
2. The
following documents are to be submitted by the applicant :-
(i)
Certificate :-
a.
The previous license number and licensing
port of the boat and its tonnage (or a copy of its previous license) and an
approved Bill of Sale, if the boat is licensed previously in Malaysia;
b.
The Builder Certificate / Document that
states the name of the person(s) of Corporate Body, if the boat is newly
constructed;
c.
The Deletion Certificate from the last port
of registry, if the boat is previously registered.
(ii)
Document of Identity :-
a.
In the case of an individual owner(s) :-
1.
The original and a copy of the identity card
for each individual.
b.
In the case of Body Corporate :-
1.
The original and a copy of the Article and
Memorandum of Association;
2.
The original and a copy of the Certificate
of Incorporation;
3.
The original and a copy of the Certificate
of Registry of Business;
4.
Letter of authority empowering individual
to make the application on behalf of the Body Corporate.
(iii)
The declaration of ownership.

Renewal of Boat License
1. Application
for renewal shall be made in a prescribed form ; Application of Renewal of License
Boat for the following purposes :-
(i)
Expired license boat where applications
shall be made within seven (7) days before the date of expiry endorsed there
on;
(ii)
Changes of particulars :-
a.
Change of particulars or description of a
boat;
b.
Change of main owner or particulars of the
main owner;
c.
Change of details of Safety equipments;
d.
Change of plying limits;
e.
Change of Master (within a period of 24
hours);
2. Any
boat wishing to have its license renewed shall be subject to inspection by the Port
Officer or Surveyor of Ship.
3. After
the inspection has been conducted and Port Officer has received Safety
Inspection Declaration, a new license will be issued.
4. The
period of validity of the boat license shall not be longer than 12 month from
the inspection date.
5. Renewal
Licensing of Boats may take as quickly as three (3) working days for issuance
of license after the survey has been made and satisfactory.
6. Checklist :-
License Boat Inspection
1.
Application for survey shall
be made in a prescribed form; Application
for survey of Ship or Ship’s Equipment.
(i)
Any boat to be licensed shall be subjected
to initial inspection by the Port Officer to satisfy himself as to the
construction, safety equipment and measurement of load lines of the boat.
(ii)
Date and time for the inspection will be
decided by the Port Officer.
(iii)
After the inspection and approval given,
the Port Officer shall issue "License Boat Number".
(iv)
Follow-up inspection for the boat marking
base on the “License Boat Number” issued will be performed after receiving
owner application on this purpose.
2.
To the
satisfaction of Port Officer, license will be issued. The period
of validity of the boat license shall not be longer than 12 month from the
inspection date after the issuance date
3.
Licensing of Boats may take as quickly as
three (3) working days for issuance of license after the first survey has been
made and satisfactory.
